Ben Walker
Ben's aviation career started at the age of 18 in 1990 when he was granted an apprenticeship as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer at Mt Cook Airlines.
Bens love for engineering and travel took him to the other side of the world where he contracted as an engineer for a number of years.
His passion for flying started soon after when Ben learnt to fly fixed wing aircraft and helicopters. Since then, flying has taken him all over the world. . . some of the most memorable moments have been flying the royal family in the United Arab Emirates and touring Bill Gates around Milford Sound.
His family have since owned and operated HeliContrax for the past two and a half years, which Ben fits flying in around his employment with Air New Zealand engineering.
Bens flying business has seen him involved in many areas including filming the World Jet Boat Marathon 3 years running, to photo work in the bottom of an open cast gold mine and frost protection over the upper South Islands Grape vines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Commercial Helicopter Pilot with Air Transport Operators Certificate. B Category Instructor. 21 years of Aircraft engineering experience.
